Give Us Our Flowers
Boulder County employees keep this county running. We care for the land, the people, and the systems that make our community strong. But too many of us are struggling to stay afloat and worry about job security. A county with this much wealth should and can do better for both its workers and its community.
Why Now?
Our bargaining committee has brought thoughtful, worker-informed proposals to the table—but county leadership has failed to meaningfully engage. Meanwhile, layoffs are mounting, workloads are increasing, and essential protections like layoff rights and immigration resources remain absent from our policies.
It’s time for the commissioners to show they value the people who keep Boulder County running.
We deserve more than gratitude—we deserve a strong union contract that reflects our worth.
Share Why This Matters to You
As part of our “Give Us Our Flowers” campaign, we're asking you, our Boulder County coworkers, to share your story. What do you need to feel secure and respected at work? What support do you wish you had? What basic protections or benefits would change your life?
Ask your local steward how to get involved, and make sure your voice is heard. Don’t have a steward in your department yet? Email us at [email protected] to get connected.
Want to help distribute postcards to your coworkers? Ask your co-worker who shared the campaign with you on how to get involved, or email us at [email protected], and we’ll get you what you need.
Stay in the loop! Our union aims to create a truly caring, people-first environment, and that starts with building connections. Let your department steward know who you are. A list of current stewards is on the internal SharePoint bargaining page. Don’t have a steward in your department yet? Talk with an organizer (bit.ly/BCEU-Contact) to help us figure out a plan for your department. To find out who the stewards are, visit boco.org/CollectiveBargaining.
Join your union! Our union is only as strong as its members. BCEU members stand up for strong contracts, solidarity, a better work-life for county workers, and a stronger community. Join your union by filling out your membership card: bit.ly/BCEU-Card
